PRINCESS DIANA would have given Prince Harry her blessing to marry Meghan Markle amid speculation an engagement between the loved up couple is “imminent”, a royal commentator has said.
Richard Fitzwilliams said Harry tying the knot with Meghan, 36 would “fulfil the fondest wish” of the young prince who is keen to make his late mother, the Princess of Wales, “proud”. And the US actress is “ideally placed to enhance the royal brand” because she immerses herself in “charitable” work and “campaigns for gender inequality”. Royal watchers believe an engagement announcement is imminent as it is understood Meghan Markle has moved in to Kensington Palace in London with the prince and given a royal protection officer.
And Prince Harry is thought to have commissioned an engagement ring using one of his mother’s favorite pieces of jeweler, it was revealed this weekend. Mr. Fitzwilliam’s told Express.co.uk: “Harry’s forthcoming marriage will open a new and exciting chapter in the history of the House of Windsor.
“It is already the world’s most high profile royal family and Meghan’s links with show business and activism should mean that the charitable activities of the younger royals enjoy a global profile that is even wider.
“Meghan is placed to help fulfil the fondest wish of both princes, that Diana would be proud of what they achieve to help others.” His remarks come after Prince Harry and his older brother, William, chose the 20th anniversary year of Princess Diana’s death to begin talking candidly about how they are still grieving.
William was 15-years-old and Harry just 12 when their mother Diana, 36, her lover Dodi Fayed, 42, and their chauffeur Henri Paul were killed when their Mercedes crashed in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris on August 31, 1997. Prince Harry has continued his mother’s legacy, raising awareness over Aids and homelessness issues, not only in the UK but around the world.

Earlier this year he travelled to Barbados with singer Rihanna to encourage HIV testing.
Speaking about his mother and her courage at bringing the issues to light, at a time when people were afraid of the disease and the destitute, Prince Harry said: “Thank God for her.”
Mr Fitzwilliams said: “The monarchy seems in safe hands because of the popularity of their grandchildren as well as their remarkable charitable work and the succession is assured.
“The announcement of Prince Harry’s engagement to the divorced American actress and humanitarian activist Meghan Markle seems imminent and this will be accompanied by an avalanche of publicity.”
Rumors are swirling that Harry will propose to his girlfriend Meghan imminently
Meghan Markle has recently spoken out about Prince Harry’s fears she will be hounded the same way the paparazzi harassed his mother Princess Diana. Their relationship, which blossomed after they met two years ago, quickly became so serious Prince Harry, 32, was forced to intervene on the media frenzy which followed. She told Vanity Fair: “I don’t read any press. I haven’t even read press for Suits. The people who are close to me anchor me in knowing who I am. The rest is noise.”
