Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring Has Diamonds Worn By Princess Diana

Prince Harry made sure his mother, the late Princess Diana, was part of his engagement to Meghan Markle. The little diamonds on the side are from my mother’s jewelry collection. The diamonds in Meghan’s engagement ring include two worn by Diana.

The center stone is from Botswana, where the couple had vacation together.

Harry made sure other memories of his beloved mom would be quietly acknowledged during the big announcement. The couple made their first public appearance as an engaged couple at the Kensington Palace Sunken Garden that was dedicated to Diana this year in honor of the 20th anniversary of her death. Harry proposed on the grounds earlier this month.

Like Diana, Meghan is already taking her first steps as a fashion icon. Her sheek, white belted coat was by Line the label, a brand based in Canada where the actress shot TV’s Suits. Right after Meghan’s big appearance, the company’s website crashed.

Harry’s ‘paperclip hand’

Eagle-eyed royal watchers also noticed Harry was making a bizarre hand gesture at certain moments, tucking half of his right-hand fingers into his jacket – something Judi says is a ‘comfort’ indicator.

‘It’s almost like he’s using his hand as a paperclip to hold his jacket together,’ Judi notes. ‘Both he and William can be incredibly shy; but at the same time, Harry looks completely in love and slightly bewildered by it all.’

Working Cameras Like A Pro

While Harry is used to taking part in public engagements, Meghan is a seasoned expert in front of the camera lens thanks to years spent treading the red carpet at glitzy Hollywood events.

‘She’s quite grown up and more experienced in front of the camera than he is,’ Judi explains. ‘Surprisingly, that will probably be quite a good thing for him.

‘We’ve seen the [public displays of affection] and we know they love each other because they couldn’t keep their hands off each other at the Invictus Games.

‘[Today’s photo call] should have been very formal but it was also incredibly tactile.’

Interview Of Prince Harry And Meghan After Engagement

Interviewer: Your Royal Highness, Meghan Markle, congratulations to you both.

Meghan Markle: Thank you.

Int: Can we start with the proposal and the actual moment of your engagement. When did it happen? How did it happen?

Prince Harry: It happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month, here at our cottage; just a standard typical night for us.

Meghan Markle: Just a cosy night, it was – what we were doing just roasting chicken and having …

Prince Harry: Roasting a chicken, trying to roast a chicken.

Meghan Markle: Trying to roast a chicken and it just – just an amazing surprise, it was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee.

Prince Harry: Of course.

Int: Was it an instant yes from you?

Meghan Markle: Yes, as a matter of fact I could barely let you finish proposing, I said – ‘can I say yes now’?

Prince Harry: She didn’t even let me finish, she said ‘can I say yes, can I say yes’ and then were was hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like ‘can I, can I give you the ring?’ She goes – ‘oh yes the ring’.

So no it was, it was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think I managed to catch… catch her by surprise as well.

Meghan Markle: Yeah.

Int: And this is how long after you first met?

Meghan Markle: Oh it would be a year and a half, a little bit more than that?

Prince Harry: No just about – it would be about a year and a half, yeah.

Meghan Markle: Just about that?

Int: Which for most people would be quite a whirlwind, is that how it’s felt to you?

Meghan Markle: I don’t think that I would call it a whirlwind in terms of our relationship, obviously there have been layers attached to how public it has become after we had a good five, six months almost with just privacy, which was amazing.

But no, I think we were able to really have so much time just to connect and we never went longer than two weeks without seeing each other, even though we were obviously doing a long distance relationship. So it’s – we made it work.

Int: How did you first meet?

Prince Harry: Ah yes, we first met – we were introduced actually by a mutual friend, who – we will …

Meghan Markle: We should protect her privacy and not reveal too much of that.

Prince Harry: We’ll protect her privacy yeah. And – but it was – it was literally – it was through her and then we met once and then twice back-to-back two dates in London, last July.

Meghan Markle: Yes.

Prince Harry: The beginning of July. And then it was I think about three, maybe four weeks later that I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana. And we – we camped out with each other under the stars, we spent – she came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic.

So, then we were really by ourselves which was crucial to me to make sure we had a chance to get to know each other.

Int: But the friend who introduced you, was she trying to set you up?

Meghan Markle: Yes, it was definitely a set-up. It was a blind date.

Prince Harry: It was definitely a set-up. It was a blind date for sure.

Meghan Markle: And it’s so interesting because we talk about it now and even then you know, because I’m from the States you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family. And so, while I now understand very clearly there is a global interest there, I didn’t know much about him and so the only thing that I had asked her when she said she wanted to set us up was, ‘I have one question’ which was, ‘Well, is he nice?’ ‘cos if he wasn’t kind it just didn’t seem like it would make sense and so we went and we had a, met for a drink and I think very quickly into that we said, ‘well what are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again.’

Prince Harry: What are we doing tomorrow? Let’s meet again. And then it was like, right, diaries. We need to get the diaries out and find out how we’re going to make this work, because I was off to Africa for a month, she was working. And we just said right where’s the gap? And the gap happened to be in the perfect place.

Int: So how much did you, Prince Harry, know about Meghan? Had you seen her on TV?

Prince Harry: No. I’d never even heard about her until this friend said Meghan Markle. I was like ‘right, okay, give me a bit of background … what’s going on here?’ So no, I’d never watched Suits, I’d never heard of Meghan before, and I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her. And there she was sitting there… I was like okay well I’m going to have to up my game … sit down and make sure I’ve got good chat.

Meghan Markle: I think for both of us though it was, it was really refreshing because, given that I didn’t know a lot about him, everything that I’ve learned about him, I learned through him as opposed to having grown up around different news stories or tabloids or whatever else… anything I’ve learned about him and his family was what he would share with me and vice versa, so for both of us it was just a really authentic and organic way to get to know each other.

Int: And was that quite refreshing for you in the way that you’ve been brought up, with a lot of people knowing a lot about you, was it refreshing?

Prince Harry: Or thinking they know

Int: Or thinking they know.

Meghan Markle: Exactly

Prince Harry: It was hugely refreshing to be able to get to know someone who isn’t necessarily within your circle, doesn’t know much about me, I don’t know much about her. So to be able to start almost afresh, right from the beginning, getting to know each other, step by step and then taking that huge leap of only two dates and then going effectively on holiday together in the middle of nowhere and you know sharing a tent together and all that kind of stuff. It was … fantastic. It was absolutely amazing to get to know her as quickly as I did.

Int: And starting a long distance relationship, you (Meghan Markle) were working on Suits, you had, I imagine, a packed filming schedule, you’ve (Prince Harry) got lots of commitments of your own, how hard was it to keep things going?

Prince Harry: (exhales) It was, yeah.

Meghan Markle: It was just a choice, right. I think that, very early on when we realised we were going to commit to each other, we knew we had to invest the time and the energy and whatever it took to make that happen. And so yes with the filming schedule it was (laughs) not the easiest because it of course included a lot of travel back and forth.

Prince Harry: I don’t think you’ve had any idea what time zone you’ve been on for the last year and a half.

Meghan Markle: No. (laughs)

Prince Harry: Coming over here four days or a week and then going back, and then straight into filming the next day, 4am wake-up calls on a Monday, straight into set.

Meghan Markle: Right off the plane and straight to set. And just coming back and doing it again.

Prince Harry: And just trying to stay as close as possible but you know on two different time zones. And five hours apart does have its challenges. But we made it work and now we’re here so, we’re thrilled.

Int: In the case of your relationship, unlike for most people, there’s this whole layer of what it means to get involved with someone from the royal family. How much of a sense did you have Meghan of the enormity of what you were getting into? What it might mean for your life?

Prince Harry Seemed Terribly Awkward But Meghan Markle Was Confident Enough

He looked terribly awkward Body language expert reveals the six tell-tale signs that prove why Meghan’s easy confidence will be good for the ‘shy’ royal who mimics his father’s nervous gestures.

They have finally announced that they are due to tie the knot after getting engaged earlier this month.

And Prince Harry and Meghan Markle looked the picture of happiness as they took part in their first official photo call at Kensington Palace today – despite the occasional ‘nervous’ gesture from the shy prince.

Body language expert Judi James tells MailOnline she believes ‘informal, confident’ Meghan is running the show while offering reassurance to camera-shy Harry, who can be seen to mimic his father’s ‘anxious’ hand gestures.

Harry, 33, and his actress fiancée walked hand-in-hand through the gardens of his the west London residence on Monday, where the couple will set up home in Nottingham Cottage.

And Judi, author of The Body Language Bible, says the redhead prince appeared ‘shocked with emotion and affection’ while his partner is clearly ‘the one with all the confidence’.

‘Meghan was the one who rubbed his arm for reassurance twice,’ Judi notes. ‘He looked terribly shy and slightly awkward and gave “tie sign” – something a lot of Hollywood couples do when they’re on the red carpet to tell their partner when to turn for the camera.’

‘It was interesting that Meghan was using little arm rubs with him and patting him. It was almost as though she was choreographing him to say, “Right, we’ll go up the steps and do some more pictures.”‘

The Ring

While most royal brides-to-be are keen to show off their engagement ring, Judi notes, Meghan let her diamond dazzler hang casually by her side.

‘She’s obviously got a more casual attitude, but I think it’s going to be very good for him,’ she says. ‘Harry has always been the one who’s allowed to be incredibly informal and this is the first time he’s been formal with a partner.

‘It will be Harry’s first stab at the Buckingham Palace stuff he has been able to cheerfully avoid for most of his life. He’s not naturally good at the formal stuff, but Meghan is good at it because of her job.’

Duke and Duchess Reached Late To The Red Carpet Following The Oxford Circus Incident

The royal couple arrived an hour later than scheduled for the star-studded evening gala at the London Palladium but were greeted by eager fans and a bunch of flowers for the four-month pregnant Kate.
Kensington Palace tweeted: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are tonight attending the @RoyalVariety Performance.
“The Royal Variety Performance takes place every year and is in aid of the @RoyalVariety Charity, of which The Queen is Patron.
“The money raised from the show helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the UK, who need help and assistance.”

Tonight’s Royal Variety performance marks a return to the London Palladium Theatre after the event moved elsewhere for the last two years.
The Palladium has been home to the Royal Variety Performance more than any other venue, hosting the gala 40 times over the decades.
And this year the event is being hosted by comedian Miranda Hart, with guests including the cast of 42nd Street, Paloma Faith, Michael Ball and Seal.
There was a false start to the event as the curtain did not go up for the first act – a glittering tap dance bonanza from the cast of the 42nd Street stage show.

Host Miranda Hart jokingly teased the audience about whether they spotted if anything had gone wrong before reintroducing the act.
Kate, 35, was left in fits of giggles when her husband was forced into a spot of audience participation with the lights shining on him.
Wiliam, 35, enthusiastically took part in a comedy skit with Hart, obligingly shouting her catch-phrase “such fun” on request.
Hart, who said compelling the future King to participate was on her to-do list for her Royal Variety duties, said she later hoped to see him galloping – another one of her trademarks – and “knighting me with a lightsaber”.

Singer James Blunt, who was due to the perform, was a last minute withdrawal after the delayed start meant he would not make an later concert appearance, according to a theatre spokesman.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said the royal couple had been “delayed” but were in time for the start of the performance.
The performance will be shown on ITV in December.
The delayed appearance comes after Scotland Yard urged anyone on Oxford Street to “go into a building” after gunshots were reported at about 4.38pm. One woman was injured as she left the train station.

Child Rapist Raped, Stitched By Medics and Re-Raped By 20 Prisoners

In Taguatinga, Brazil Jujitsu professor Daryell Dickson Menenzes Xavier was jailed in 2014 after turning self in with help from his lawyer in being sought for the awful and wrong rape of his own 1-year-old son. He has been just as brutally raped by a squad of 20 of his fellow inmates. This happened during his initial 30 day incarceration as he waited for hearing before a presiding judge.

During his jailing Daryell became the focus of the entire local prison resident population. This case of crazed vigilante justice is seen by many as him getting just as he deserved. His son is forever damaged and hurt, so why not Daryell also some have to say.

A gang of a total of 20 inmates have had their ways with him. After the initial assault being committed the jail’s medical staff doctored Daryell with a large number of sutures covering the whole of his back and prominently his anal area. Upon being again instituted inside the prison he was raped and otherwise abused for a second round. Injuries were made over his entire body and especially to the region of his backside. Bloody stains on the seat of his uniform attested to this ‘vigilante justice’ that he has now two times undergone.

Some outsiders are making shouts of calling the actions of the inmates as ‘uncivilized’ and extreme. Most in his native community sanction the events as seemingly karmic in nature. Most side with the vigilantes.
The general public is alarmed, yet hardly anybody is really loudly protesting. Daryell is a marked man wherever he may have to go within the countries prison system.

The Rules For Marrying A Royal

The rules for marrying a royal. When Prince Harry proposes to Meghan Markle – WHEN, not if (don’t ask us to explain, we can just feel it in our waters) – there are obviously going to be rules that have to be followed. And while we’re all individually devastated here (including the married girls), we’re also collectively VERY EXCITED.

In olden times, royals had to ask the monarch’s permission when they wanted to get married. This dates back to 1701, when the Act of Settlement was passed to stop James II and his Roman-Catholic-loving ways getting back on the throne. Fortunately, we’ve all grown up and moved on – the Queen only needs to grant permission to the first six members of the Royal Family in line to the throne. At the moment, they are Charles, William, George, Charlotte, Harry and Andrew – although the new baby will bump Andrew off the list so he can go mad and run away with a fortune-telling gypsy or a fire-breathing sword-swallower if he likes.

Meghan has been married before, but that won’t prove to be a problem – which was obviously not true for Harry’s Great-Uncle Edward, who was not allowed to marry HIS girlfriend, Wallis Simpson, the two-time American divorcee. Things have changed. Exhibit A: the Duchess of Cornwall. She is divorced, but the Queen was cool with that.

Commoners, rejoice! You too shall be welcomed into the Royal Family if the Queen likes the look of you. The Duchess of Cornwall is a commoner (see above) and so is the Duchess of Cambridge. We could ALL have married Harry. Does this make it better or worse?

The Church of England has confirmed that Harry and Meghan will be allowed to marry in Westminster Abbey, despite her being a divorcee. It’s no big deal; it’s not like William the Conqueror was crowned there. *Omg, William the Conqueror was crowned there*. *Goes all weird with the weight of history, even though that’s not strictly true because the abbey was rebuilt by Henry III in 1245.

Every royal bride since Queen Victoria has myrtle in her wedding bouquet. Not just any old myrtle, though – it’s from the shrub planted by Queen Victoria at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.

Since the Queen Mother married George VI, royal brides have worn wedding bands that contain Welsh gold from the same nugget mined in North Wales (OK, THAT nugget actually ran out, but the Queen was given another one from the same mine, so it counts). Welsh gold is three times more valuable than other gold. That’s right – it’s more gold than gold. Typical.

Sorry, but there are a few things you have to give up when you marry a royal. Like voting. And shellfish. The first one is because you’re supposed to stay politically neutral – so all your complaining about Brexit and the tax on fags will have to happen behind closed doors. The shellfish thing is not a hard-and-fast rule, but something the Queen advises and observes when abroad in order to avoid any awkward food-poisoning scenarios.

Meghan has given up her website, the Tig. She’s already giving stuff up. Like someone who was about to marry a prince. JUST SAYING.
