The British royal family tends to choose from a small pool of names for their children. The Queen’s full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, while Queen Victoria was called Alexandrina Victoria. If the baby is a boy, there are several options to choose from. George is popular with royalty, and was chosen by the couple for their first born son. Edward is the next most popular choice historically, however it is not on the list.

Alexander is on the list, and could be a potential choice, being the male version of Queen Victoria’s first given name, and Queen Elizabeth’s middle name. Babygaga based their predictions on chosen names of the last few years and emerging trends. They believe Emma will be the most popular name for girls in 2018. Finn has taken the top spot for boys for 2018. And there were a selection of more unusual names on the list for both boys and girls – although Kate and William are likely to stick to tradition when naming their children.
